About Us

Welcome to The North Berwick Flower Co., I'm Fay and I started the flower farm in 2023 to provide local, naturally grown, seasonal flowers.

The floristry industry is one of the biggest polluters in the UK, with 86% of our blooms being imported.  The flowers are grown all over the world, flown to the markets in the Netherlands and then on to us...thats a lot of Co2 and airmiles for something so small and dainty!

As well as this, we are used to having blooms all year round, whether it is their natural growing season or not, this requires hot houses...more Co2...and don't get me started on floral foam (used to display flowers)...it's plastic, it doesn't break down...I just thought it was very sad that something so beautiful could create so much pollution, when it really doesn't need to...

I started the farm to counter the imports, to show that beautiful flowers can be grown right here in the UK, all year round.

So, you won't find roses in January here, but you will find gorgeous bouquets and posies full of sweet smelling seasonal flowers (because some mass produced flowers have their scent bred out to encourage higher yields - yes that actually happens!) .

As well as providing bouquets and Friday flowers for collection at the farm, we also open every other weekend so that you can come to the field and pick your own flowers.  This was one of the most important things that I wanted to offer, my children love wandering and picking flowers, so why not create somewhere where they and others can do that at their own pace.  It also offers you the chance to create your own displays, just including the colours or varieties that you like.

We run several mini workshops over our open weekends as well in our Flower Barn.  These are individual-led sessions, everything will be provided, with instructions to follow if you wish, but they are designed to give a calm space for you, or your child to get creative!

There is also a programme of group workshops on topics such as wreath making, sustainable gardening, vase displays etc that can be booked throughout the year.  Just click on the 'Workshops'  tab above to see what is coming up.

If you are interested in holding your own workshop or class at the farm (we can hold most things from baby massage classes to painting workshops) please get in contact and we can discuss things further.

We also supply our flowers on a wholesale basis to florists or for events, again please contact us for more information.

Wedding flowers: We do not do wedding flowers ourselves, although do work with several talented wedding florists, however, we do offer DIY Buckets if you would like to do your own wedding flowers, with the option of workshops on how to design and put together your wedding bouquet and floral displays.
